Night Noise Team

Night Noise Team Promo Pic 3

Following 2012’s warmly received Pieces EP, Night Noise Team releases its third album, ‘Rêver Electrique‘. ‘Rêver Electrique‘, the latest stop on NNT’s trip towards an unapologetically mature pop style, is very much a record of two halves: the opening brace of synth-driven, upbeat tracks gives way to a more reflective second half, threaded by strings and acoustic guitar. All the songs are painstakingly-arranged, carefully-layered and teeming with ideas. Musically, ‘Rêver Electrique’ is strongly influenced by Serge Gainsbourg, Phoenix, Daft Punk, Leny Escudero and Michel Polnareff. Lyrically, the album is a series of bittersweet relationship vignettes, some overheard in the streets and parks of Edinburgh, others suggested by writers like Eliot, Larkin, Joyce and Camus.

Night Noise Team is based in Edinburgh, Scotland and features Frenchman Fabien Pinardon and Sean Ormsby from the north of Ireland. Together these two incomers have been writing, arranging, recording, playing on, producing, mixing and releasing tracks on their own Permwhale Recordings label since 2008.

Permwhale tracks have been supported by BBC Radio 1, 6 Music, Radio Scotland’s Vic Galloway, Jim Gellatly, The Skinny, NME, The Fly, The List, Hot Press,The Scotsman, The Herald, Edinburgh Evening News, STV, The Sun, The Daily Record as well as numerous radio stations, podcasters and bloggers in the UK, USA, Canada, Germany, Holland, USA and Poland.

Night Noise Team filters a love of funk, French chanson-style ballads, guitar shapes and the dance floor.

Permwhale Recordings is founded on a strong DIY ethos and sky-high production values.

‘Rêver Electrique’ is available (released 28th April 2014) as a download and limited edition vinyl.

Previously:
‘Fortunately, we find an adrenaline shot in the shape of Night Noise Team and their contagious new single ‘You Won’. Whooshing out on a fanfare of parping brass, it’s an effortless slab of gleaming, sunshine-induced disco that thrusts its pelvis like Cassius in heat. Undoubtedly a dancefloor filler, this ebullient cut could soundtrack your summer’ (The Scotsman)

‘an effortless pop nous that may induce apoplexy with the puritanical, dour indie crowd’ (The Skinny)

‘Another band to add to the growing roster of great Edinburgh bands that are doing something truly exciting’ (Is this music?)
