Miaoux Miaoux is 27-year-old Glasgow based producer Julian Corrie, who makes hypercolour indie dance pop that recalls the best of Caribou, Erlend Oye and Four Tet. After a series of self-released records, and acclaimed shows across England and Scotland, he is the newest signing to the renowned Chemikal Underground Records. The new album, ‘Light of the North’ (released June 11th), has been attracting rave reviews from blogs and press worldwide.  With a stunning live show, where improvised loops and guitars collide with live drums, fizzing synths and low-slung bass, as well as producing slamming remixes for the likes of Silver Columns and Discopolis, Miaoux Miaoux looks set to make an indelible mark on 2012.

“Gloriously melodic dance-pop genius with echoes of Daft Punk, Basement Jaxx and the Avalanches” (The List)

“Any guy that names himself after French cat chatter is alright by us. The bonus is that Julian Corrie makes brilliant music too” (The Line Of Best Fit)

“Effortlessly weaving between infectious pop hooks, conscious hip-hop, ebullient African rhythms, arable folk and star-striding electronica (to pick out just a few), Light of the North is an incongruous, ever-twisting musical kaleidoscopic” (Drowned In Sound)

“Blooms is essentially one of the most feel good collections of songs that I have listened to in quite some time, this is pop perfection with a mixture of delicate vocals and electronic jubilation” (Glasgow Podcart)
