1) Who are you, who is in the band, who does what in the studio and on stage?
The Telescopes have a revolving line up, it changes all the time.
2) How long have you been writing and performing in this way?
Since 1987, with a break from 1992 – 2000
3) How exactly do you work / write / record?
It changes every time, we don’t work to a formula.
4) How do you feel your studio/recording style informs the way you perform your music live (or vice versa)?
We mostly record live, a lot of it is improvised, with having a revolving line up, it’s all in flux, so it’s never the same twice, even with the same musicians playing.
5) What’s been happening lately and what’s new with you?
We have a new album Hidden Fields out on Tapete Records. Featuring St Deluxe from Glasgow.
6) When was the last time you played Edinburgh (and where)?
A couple of years ago, not sure where, but it was during the Fringe festival. We were very loud.
7) If you’ve played Limbo before, what did you like/rate about the experience? If you’ve not played Limbo before, what have you heard about it?
Haven’t played before but my booking agent tells me it should be a good night.
8) What’s next, coming up after this gig, for you and what are you generally looking forward to right now…?
We’re about to head off on tour across Europe and Scandinavia up until December then we’ll start work on some new material.
9) If you have any other passions/opinions you’d like to share, if there’s anything else you feel strongly about, please feel free to tell us about it here…?
The Telescopes are all embracing.
10) How would you describe what you do – in a nutshell – to someone who’s never seen you before?
Beyond the realm of natural vision.
