Ten Questions for Night Noise Team (abridged)

3) How exactly do you work / write / record?
Fab and I write in a variety of ways. Sometimes exchanging demos, sometimes improvising chords around vocal melodies. Instrumentation and arrangement is experimental, trial and error. We keep recalibrating until we’re totally happy with the recordings. When we’re ready to perform the songs, Keith Kirkwood (drums), Stephen McLaren (keys and vox) and Marco Morelli help us out. NNT has done a stack of gigs and two BBC sessions with these guys.
6) When was the last time you played Edinburgh (and where)?  What do you remember about the experience?
Last Edinburgh gig was an in-store launch for the vinyl of our latest album ‘Rever Electrique’ at Elvis Shakespeare (Vinyl will be available to buy at Limbo, kids!). This was a great experience with random Leith Walkers wandering in and out of the shop and peering through the window. An acoustic, Amsterdam-style performance.
7) If you’ve played Limbo before, what did you like/rate about the experience? If you’ve not played Limbo before, what have you heard about it?
NNT must have done Limbo five times so far, like some kind of house band! We’re always made welcome and get a good reception. To us, Limbo is about attention to detail, a brilliant sound in the room and bands being treated with respect. A favourite  memory is playing a Ramones song at a Limbo Christmas party. I hope the brothers have forgiven us for that one. This gig will be a launch for our new single ‘Days’, out the following Monday (22nd).
