We are Tom Lee on bass, Ross McLennan on drum-kit, Ania Bania on vocals and Neil Bateman on guitar. We are previous/current members of Senator, Oi Polloi, Badgewearer, Dominic Waxing Lyrical, Archbishop Kebab, Brittlehip, Vakuhnot, Desc, Sandals of Majesty, The Eastern Block, Norman Silver and the Gold and Total Disaster.
We’ve been playing a few years (I’m terrible with time scale), though Ania just joined a few months ago as our previous singer moved abroad. It’s pretty disgraceful we’ve not released anything yet, especially as Tom owns a professional studio! We are halfway through recording an album currently, which is going nicely.
Our song writing process is very democratic, mostly originating from improvisations in the practice room and frequently subject to change.
We played our last, and Ania’s first, gig last month at Henry’s. It was quite triumphant, but the night was somewhat marred by the barman trying to ban our friend Colin Douglas, who has to use a wheelchair, for being a fire hazard! This is quite disgusting, particularly in light of the fact that Colin has been making them money for years promoting gigs there. Hopefully it has been resolved by now.
We’ve not played Limbo before but I’ve been to see Your Loyal Subjects and Lipsync for a Lullaby, which I enjoyed very much.
I intend to vote Yes to independence. I’m not greatly nationalistic but I do believe the country should be run by it’s own people and am generally a fan of devolution. I’d have Edinburgh independent if it were up to me.
