We’re kicking off 2014 in a fully energised, inclusive party style, with the Limbo January Sale – designed to put a smile on your face without putting a dent in your pocket…
NUMBERS ARE FUTILE have really set tongues in the capital wagging over the last nine months or so and finally make their Limbo debut (as headliners, no less), after they were forced to cancel their October appearance. Now working on a debut album, they’ve no shortage of material to perform and have been promising to turn up the heat up properly at Limbo! We’re hugely looking forward to seeing what they have in store, having been captivated by their debut EP (available for FREE here).
LOINSTORM have been around a wee bit longer but operating largely under the radar and have just started working with a new singer. Guitarist Neil Bateman has been in numerous respected Edinburgh outfits (and is currently also part of Norman Silver & The Gold) and describes their sound as “a little bit punk, quite proggy, pretty hard to describe really…” In other words, it’s the perfect foil for NAF’s psychedelic kraut-pop workouts and should get things moving…
First on stage will be A.H.DOUNE, a brand new solo act by Alex from Thank You So Nice. “It’s basically me, a loop pedal and a drum machine,” he says. We’re big fans of TYSN and immediately liked Alex’s new project as well (which you can sample here – be sure to check out Spinning Room). It’s a bit more pensive than the other two and should provide an ideal opening act for the night, warming everyone up.
As usual, the Black Spring DJs will be getting the party going before and after the bands.
Tickets for Limbo’s January Sale are just £3 (in advance) and £5 (on the door). Don’t hang around, though, as advance tickets are limited and you don’t want to miss out on a deal like that, do you….? See you on the 25th!
