My Electric Love Affair

My Electric Love Affair

Biog (last updated 2013):

We are a 4 piece band from Edinburgh who have been together for 13 years. We played our first gig in August 2000 at Bannerman’s pub in Edinburgh.  We have released 4 singles (vinyl only), the 1st was a 12″ called As If I Get Confused (2004) which we financed ourselves. The 2nd was a 7″ double A side called Infinite Mass / (so) I’m Alone (2005) which was released on a Birmingham label called Static Caravan.

After that we slightly imploded and never got it together again until late 2007 when we released another 7″ double A side called Blow Me Down / As Soon As Now. This record was a self release and we distributed it ourselves.  All our music is self recorded on a Tascam 688 tape 8-track which was purchased for a very reasonable price on ebay. Over the years we have built up a fine arsenal of effects processors and microphones and have become very much obsessed with the whole recording process.

We have constantly played live over the years, mostly in Edinburgh / Glasgow but have also played in most of the major cities in the UK. In 2008 we done a mini tour of Northern France which we organised through myspace.  We would very much like to play and record as much music as humanly possible so if anyone can help us out with gigs or any sort of recording please contact my good self at kevedgar@hotmail.co.uk.

2011 saw us release another 7″ single call If I Lived Here I’d Be Home By Now / Seventh Sense (200 pressed, hand stamped covers). Which was nice…

We are currently recording our 5th record.

“Ghosting up the kind of experimental tunes that popped up within the D.I.Y. years of the post-punk era (synths, lo-fi and nu-wave) with the nod of the now” (Jumbo Records, Leeds)
